Fiscal Responsibility
As Co-Chair of last year’s successful Measure G Campaign, I want to ensure that our tax dollars are spent as directed by the voters. Beyond Measure G, I will work in a professional manner to ensure efficient use of all of our resources. We need to perpetually reevaluate budget priorities, making sure to keep students and school personnel a priority while maintaining a sound budget.
Curriculum Reform
Our students need choices and opportunities to take elective classes beyond their academic requirements. Music, athletics, yearbook, and drama, for example, are classes we should be making available within the school day. LVUSD has lagged behind other top public school districts in number of courses offered. We have all the elements necessary to move our District to the forefront of public education, and I will work toward looking for solutions to achieving these opportunities for our students.
Partnerships
Lack of communication among administrators, parents, teachers, and our community has often hindered progress for our District. As a former teacher and PFC President, I will work to open the lines of communication both within our District and with our local cities, in order to achieve better cooperation among our school stakeholders.
